Embracing my Authenticity

Before these intimate portraits, I was reading a book by Paulina Porizkova .  She was a young model from Czechoslovakia who was the face of Estée Lauder,  She happens to be the exact same age as myself and I have been following her for years.  She was my inspiration behind this shoot.  Some of her recent wardrobes she wore to her journey of Self Love really inspired me.

I have done enough boudoir shoots with Nicole to feel completely comfortable being in front of her camera.  I even felt more comfortable with less clothing on than in the past.  We shot this time in her own Fort Collins studio and had the sweetest Great Dane “ Astro” as one of my unexpected props!

Still, each time Nicole seems to have new poses and such creative ideas to bring to the shoot.  I’m always surprised and blown away when I see my photos for the first time.  My time as an Ambassador, representing Lilac & Fern has meant the world to me.  Taking some thoughts from one of my fellow ambassadors post, April, I wanted to talk about what my experience has allowed me……

It has allowed me to express my fun, flirty side which I don’t show to everyone.  It has given me the confidence and courage to fully embrace and accept myself for all of my flaws, all of the parts I love about myself, and to not care so much about how others see me!  I have gained som new friendships and made some memories that will last forever!

The world we live in has such unrealistic expectations for us women.  We need to step away from what society tells us we have to be if we are ever able to find our true Inner peace and happiness.

One way to give your confidence a huge boost is by doing a shoot just for yourself.  Come trek out to the Bonneville Salt Flats with us this summer. It’s going to be an adventure to remember!
