Fort Collins, Colorado Boudoir | Miss A
There are a few questions I hear fairly regularly: “When should I book my boudoir?” and “When will I see my photos?”
As for booking your boudoir, there is no steadfast timeline on when to book but, there are seasons and deadlines to consider for sure, especially for the different sessions I offer. To go into a little detail, I say booking a Tushy Tuesday at least a week or two out is best because it allows you time to plan what you want to wear and, if you want to borrow from the Lilac & Fern Closet, it allows time for you to visit the studio beforehand to see what you want to wear. For White Sheet and Signature Outdoor, a month in advance is a minimum because your session includes hair and make-up by local vendors that also serve other clients and we want to ensure an appointment will be available the day you want and, if your session includes a personal shopping trip with me, we need to make sure we have time to fit that in as well.
There are also certain seasons where booking two or even three months out is required. Generally speaking, though, June, July, October, and November fill quickly. So, if a spring session or a fall foliage session is your dream, securing a spot with me three months out is probably the best option. Another thing to consider is holiday deadlines and my winter shutdown. For the last three years, I’ve closed down after Thanksgiving and, now that we’re visiting Thailand each December, Mid-November is the beginning of my shutdown. I reopen each January but, while I’m closed for the winter, I’m not placing any orders simply because traveling overseas, there is no way I’d be able to give anyone state-side the attention I would like. That said, if you know you’re ready to book, you can still email me during that winter shutdown and I’ll respond as I’m able. I do my best to be available considering the holidays and travel and, at the very least, when I’m back in the studio, your name will be topping my list of people to touch base with.
Depending on your session type, you may see your photos later that same day or about two to three weeks after your session. For Miss A’s session, there was a deadline to meet, which she and I had discussed when she scheduled her boudoir, and that meant my first ever same-day Ordering Appointment. It was SO fun! And it pushed me to make that an option for Tushy Tuesdays as well as White Sheet but only as my schedule allows. For Signature Outdoor, I’ve always been very consistent with Ordering Appointments happening about two or three weeks after your session.
And a side note: regardless of your session type, you are always welcome to bring your love or a best friend to your ordering appointment. It’s really fun to see their reaction to your photos and, as someone that knows you a lot better than I do, they can help you see things in photos that you may otherwise have missed, things that bring out who you are.
If you’re ready to book your Lilac & Fern experience, reach out to me and let’s chat. It’s never too soon to start pushing your own limits and try something new. We can shoot as conservative or as raw as you like; this is your session, your experience, your opportunity to try something new.
