Gearing up for our first ambassador shoot this year made me a little nervous. Nervous, something I hadn’t felt before a shoot with Nicole in a while. I had just done a mini myself a week before and assisted her with a maternity shoot as well. This shoot reminded me how at ease Nicole makes everyone feel. However, going into a shoot with women I had never met, this was where the nerves came in.

My bags were packed and in the car, I followed all of Nicole’s suggestions to be ready myself. As I drove to meet Nicole I felt some butterflies. As soon as I saw Nicole and started talking with her all the butterflies fluttered away.

Andrea, Erica, and I made quick work of the formalities before we left the parking lot at the river. All three of us got straight to business and there was no more nervousness.

We took turns being photographed. These women are so encouraging and thoughtful. We were all helping each other pick out what to wear or not to wear next. We had each others backs (and fronts), we stood by each other with towels to help keep modesty.

We walked up and down the river and, though people were nearby, we still managed to find places for the privacy.

Nicole and I had found a spot the week before that Nicole knew would make the perfect backdrop. The catch? We would have to cross the river! Nicole was graceful as ever and took her equipment across the river first. She came back and helped us across as needed. The trek was well worth it! The fall colors, the rock tones and the setting sun made for stunning photos.

By this time, we were all having a great time! We were like old friends laughing and joking. Nicole brought the body paints, and it was incredible how unique each of us used them. Our individual personalities really shined with them.

Looking back at the experience, I can’t help but smile. It was, and always is, such an empowering opportunity. Working side by side with such amazing and uplifting women is really an experience that I wish more could experience!

The other ambassadors were missed. I can’t wait to meet them! The middle of November can’t come soon enough!
