I asked a ranger once how often the mountains of sand shift shape so much that it become noticeable. She said they change daily but that it becomes more obvious after weeks and months and, of course, years. And I couldn’t help but relate this idea to the power of water and of us and how this is nature reminding us that small movements create big change. And I sincerely hope that the little changes you are making, all of you reading this, are changes for the better. That the grains of sand are kind words to yourself and to others, good choices for yourself and for the greater good. Because your words, your actions, they matter. And that you’re constantly refining who you are and asking who you want to be a month from now, a year, ten years?
