“I finally made it to the this spot with Nicole! WOW!

The day started off with getting ready for the shoot. My car was packed with chosen outfits and I was ready. The excitement and buzz was undeniable. Makeup and hair done by Haley who is at Ohana Salon. Haley is incredible; it was my first time working with her and the photos say it all!

All of the conversations leading up to the shoot were inspiring. Once we were at the location, I was amazed. Walking into the park I could see white caves in the distance, stark white. Beautiful, I thought. I had no clue what was waiting.

Nicole is an expert here and it showed over and over again. Us girls grabbed our things as Nicole had her bags already arranged and ready for the hike in. As we walked further into the park, all the colors took my breath away. Natural oranges, purples, whites, tans and of course pink were everywhere! And the colors were so vibrant! It truly was breathtaking!

Nicole had many spots for the photos chosen from trips before. They did not disappoint. I loved each spot thinking it was the best one, until we made it to the next spot. I love watching Nicole work, as I have said before. Watching the other ladies was awesome. I knew their photos were going to be amazing and was just as excited for them to see their photos as I was to see mine.

The park is a natural area with rock formations; as hard as rocks are, they are delicate, too. There are signs asking not to climb on the formations as it could cause damage to them. How many years of damage have these rocks gone through? That is possibly what makes them so beautiful.

As I reflect on it, it reminds me of humans. Personally, I can be hard or tough when I need to be. But deep down, I really am fragile and working to hold it all together. “Damage” has been done throughout our lives although we don’t always call it damage. We call it experiences or just life in general. It’s a good time to remember that we need to take care of ourselves and of others. We are fragile. Life is fragile.

We truly don’t know how much time we have. It sounds so cliché, but life is short and we don’t know when our last day will be. Live your life to the fullest, take the chances, try new things. Don’t wait for things to be “perfect”, or to lose the weight-do it now! Buy that something special! Whatever it may be for you, do it now. Love it and share the experience with others. Create the memories for your loved ones because one day that might be all they have left of us.” -S
