Scheduling 3-6 months out is ideal for Colorado experiences. This ensures availability for a date that aligns with your schedule while giving you ample time to prepare.

Seasonal and special events have a bit more wiggle room and can be reserved in as little as one week!

Travel options can be reserved anywhere from a few weeks out to a year in advance though, booking your date is best done 6-9 months in advance.

Yes. To secure your date, a non-refundable retainer is due upon booking.

Professional hair and make-up is included in all Nature and Studio experiences.

In Colorado, I work exclusively with OHANA SALON.

Travel portraits often do include hair & make-up; if it is not included, it will be noted in the listing.

As a general rule, it’s always best to bring more than you think you’ll need. But we’ll go over all of this at your private Wardrobe Planning appointment.

We’ll cover your private wardrobe, go over fit, go through the Lilac & Fern Closet of items you can borrow, and shop Studio Déshabillée.

That said, most end up wearing 3-6 outfits, sometimes less. Bringing more is important because your comfort level may surprise you the day of your portrait session.

Yes! Bringing a trusted friend is absolutely allowed and very encouraged! Just make sure they are supportive and help you relax.

I do ask that romantic partners not attend unless they are participating in the shoot because this is a time for you to shine on your own. (Your lover is welcome at your Ordering Appointment though!)

Editing is minimal. I believe you are beautiful as you are so, unless it’s a blemish or bruise, something that will be gone in two weeks, it stays.

Again, these portraits are a celebration of you and heavy-handed editing feels inauthentic and counterintuitive to the entire experience.

About 1-2 weeks after your portrait experience, we’ll have a virtual meeting, at which you’ll see your final edited images. During that meeting, you’ll select your favorites and place your order for your desired art.

Some products can take up to 8 weeks to arrive so please schedule with those timelines in mind. If you have a deadline, I can help you select products that arrive more quickly.

Privacy is a top priority for Lilac & Fern. No one will see your photos except you and I (and my professional lab for product orders) unless you sign a model release. And even then, you still have final say over what, if anything, is shared.

Yes! I have scheduled trips throughout the year and am also available to travel upon request.
