Denver, Colorado Intimate Portraits | Cherise & Juju’s Year
With the wind blowing on my bare skin, I stand by a log on the soft smooth river bed rocks. I frantically fix my hair and makeup; I got off work late and now I’m behind.
But, then I start to look around. Not only am I surrounded by beautiful scenery of mountains, jagged and textured, there is a river running nearby close enough to hear. Nicole will soon be encouraging me to delve deeper into the cool mountain current.
I start to look around at all the ladies surrounding me, it is my first time meeting my fellow ambassadors. We are shy but swap a few stories, gingerly handing out clues to who we are.
I watch everyone’s turn in front of the camera. I’m surprised how inspiring it is, session after session, to see what my fellow babes have brought to the set. From their outfit choices to their infinite creativity and imagination on what to do next.
As the year progressed, this tiny band of badass babes would thread together to slowly create a powerful support system- both in business and personal time. Something about stripping down your clothes and being your barest, most authentic self is the quickest way to shed all the preconceived notions you have about others and yourself. I thoroughly appreciate my time with Lilac and Fern as it touched so much deeper than just photo shoots.
