Colorado Intimate Portraits | Featuring Angela Friedman Lingerie
Where do I begin? I stumbled across Angela Friedman’s creations after meeting Stephanie of Evgenia Lingerie (If you want to know what lingerie to invest in, look to see what other lingerie designers invest in!) and I haven’t looked back. She brings a classic, fresh feel to the everyday with her ethical creations made of silk satins and French laces. From bra & panty sets for any occasion to tap shorts and luxury silk robes, you’ll feel ready to conquer anything.
Another thing to adore about Angela Friedman is that her pieces stand the test of time. If you’re here, you likely already know I preach quality and investment when it comes to lingerie. If you’re spending hard earned money, you not only want a great fit but quality fabrics and sewing.

Enough chattering, I reached out to Angela recently to ask a few questions:
What is your biggest inspiration?
I draw a lot of inspiration from other art forms, not necessarily directly from fashion. Many of my pieces are inspired by dance and classical ballet in particular – in my previous career, I created ballet costumes – as well as fine art, architecture, my travels… The wonderful thing about lingerie is that unlike say dresses, the designs can be completely fanciful even for everyday items. So I can create a lingerie set that’s inspired by a tutu with layers of lace, embroidery, bows, and frills, and you can still wear it underneath your boring work clothes!
As a designer yourself, what do you look for when adding lingerie to your personal collection?
The most important thing I look for in my personal lingerie wardrobe is quality. Because I know textiles and seam finishes very well myself, I can’t stand to wear something that isn’t made properly or uses cheap materials or uncomfortable elastics. I also try to be careful to shop ethically-manufactured and sustainable brands.
What designers are staples for you?
I wear a lot of my own designs for lingerie sets, but for lounge wear, I absolutely adore Evgenia Lingerie and Harlow and Fox. Both designers were featured in my bridal trousseau (with their camisoles and tap pants), which made me feel so luxurious and indulgent! Once you’ve tried silk lounge wear, you really can’t go back to anything else, so I’m afraid I’ve spoiled myself with those!
What is one piece you feel everyone should have in their collection?
Bras and underwear seem the easy, obvious choices for areas of improvement… But I’m going to go rogue and suggest something different. If you’re starting to build up your lingerie collection past the basics, add a silk robe. It’s definitely an investment, but silk is highly breathable, feels so glamorous against the skin, and is appropriate for many seasonal changes. Even if your lingerie sets are a bit plain, layering a silk robe on top will make you feel like absolute royalty. Plus, it’s really nice to have a quick layer to slip on for a morning chill whilst getting dressed, or for when you’re reading before bedtime. Just trust me.
