Boise, Idaho Boudoir | Miss L

I had been following Lilac and Fern for awhile before my shoot and I could always feel the difference when looking at the photos. These are not ‘super sexy’ or ‘super posed’ boudoir photos that you typically see, so that drew me in. She is able to capture your natural essence and beauty by cultivating a relaxed and comfortable environment. It never felt weird or forced at all.

What were your expectations and how did your actual experience compare?

Nicole exceeded my expectations. Even though I already knew I was walking into a more fun and natural space, she made it more so by playing music and not holding anything back.

What hesitations did you have before your session?  What would you tell someone that has the same hesitations before booking a boudoir?

I had zero hesitations. However I have put in a lot of hard work over the last 3 years to overcome my body image issues and learn to love myself. I unlearned societies bull**it beauty standards and I finally see the beauty and value in myself. These photos are kind of my big finale. I am FINALLY at peace with my body and myself and these photos mark this occasion and feeling. I will forever look back at these photos and genuinely smile. I would say to anyone with hesitations, you just need to take this leap! No matter where you are in your life journey, you will walk away from the session with more confidence in yourself and you will never regret the experience.

How do you feel about the way you look in your photos?

I adore the way I look! My shoot was more ‘raw’ and focused on my natural curves and rolls (which all bodies have!). I tear up and smile when I see my tummy in these photos because it was a part of me that I was taught to hate at such a young age, but I have finally overcome that and I love my tummy now.

How did Lilac & Fern prepare you for a great session?

Nicole let me know what I should do and expect right away and nothing was a surprise. She answered my questions and guided me through the process. She even offers a ‘client closet’ full of fantastic lingerie that you can borrow for a shoot! This is incredible because buying lingerie can be a daunting task and this closet can make the experience a bit more approachable.

How did Lilac & Fern help you relax during the session?

Nicole made it feel like old friends getting together. She played music and I even got to meet her cat before the shoot!!
