Let’s get serious for a minute. The word “boudoir” has become such a loaded term and it’s often implied that these photos are meant for a lover but, intimate portraits are more than that. Even those that work with me that go into a shoot with the end goal of gifting their album to a lover share with me that their experience was just as much a gift for themselves, if not more.
Seeing with a different set of eyes.
“The biggest benefit for me has been seeing myself from another perspective. People think ‘when I have the perfect body I’ll like photos of myself so much more’ but I would challenge them to allow someone who sees beauty in them to photograph the parts of them that maybe they don’t love, because seeing them that way may make them realize they won’t hate those parts of their body as much as they thought they did. I learned to love the parts of me I was most insecure about by doing boudoir with you.” – Miss K
It’s fun!
When was the last time you had your hair and make-up done and had the opportunity to dress up in fancy things (or sheets), crank the tunes, and just play around in front of a camera? Intimate portraits are the modern Glamour Shots. Minus the cheese. These are photos that you’ll love looking at today, tomorrow, and years from now.
“I’ve worked with other photographers on other projects and L+F is by far the most fun. I think people usually just take photos to get the pictures and the actual process is irrelevant and that couldn’t be further from true with L+F. With each birthday, it gets easier and easier to forget what we’ve accomplished and how far we’ve come. Photos, whatever genre, pause that and help us remember the now. They slow us down and transport us to a specific time in a way nothing else can.
