“Boudoir is such a deep and intimate thing, and a lot of my shoots have been an emotional ride for me because of various things going on in my life.
But sometimes boudoir is just flat out FUN. Sometimes boudoir is just getting you out of your comfort zone enough that you can laugh while being naked in front of someone else. Sometimes boudoir is being vulnerable and being told you look great until you feel like you can take on the world.
This weekend I had the honor of doing two shoots with Nicole, while in Colorado, and it was such a beautiful reminder of how FUN it is.
For my first shoot, we drove up into the Rocky Mountains, toward a snow storm and walked just off the path. Where I stripped down to a pair of stockings and a thong.
Yep.
It was SO cold.
18 degrees in fact!
And deep snow.
I’m not sure if it was adrenaline from being naked in nature, or if it was the insane denial I was in about how cold it was outside, but I really wasn’t cold. Until we decided we needed full naked shots. Then I felt it.
For my second shoot, I had the absolute HONOR of being at Sugar Hill studio with its incredible floral set up. It was so stunning, I almost worried that putting a person in there would take away from its beauty.  [I have to chime in and say it enhances the beauty of florals to have people nearby!]
But this shoot was fast and furious, I came overly prepared so we shot in about 6 or 7 outfits, in SEVERAL different poses and all over the studio!
Both times, and for different reasons, I had such a great time. I laughed lots. I got to know Nicole in a better way, and I just felt so myself. So comfortable. I was reminded that boudoir is deep and important and emotional, but it’s also an absolute blast. And that’s why I fell in love with it in the first place. The photos are so healing and so wonderful and such good reminders, but the actual shoots are such a good time! I walked out of my first shoot on cloud nine, and both of these were the same! I’m so honored I get to be a part of such an amazing and fun experience and I hope everyone gets to experience it at some point.
This is truly the greatest valentines gift, or really any day gift. To give yourself experience you will love and appreciate forever and incredible photos as a permanent memory. ?✨” -Kelly
